Tune in every Friday.

May 4th, 2020: Digest in 3, 2, 1

This week’s dispatch is coming in the form of a video update from our Regional Manager, Fred Kintu, who is on the ground in Uganda working on our responses.

In this video, Fred outlines the 3 main challenges we are seeing, the 2 big decisions we made, and the #1 thing you can do to support us during this time. See the recap below.

The 3 main CHALLENGES:

#1 Families are going hungry due to the lack of food caused by lockdown measures.

#2 Healthcare workers are struggling to access clinics due to the severe transport ban.

#3 Last Mile Communities lack access to crucial information about COVID-19 due to their physical distance.

The 2 big DECISIONS:

1.Donate bicycles to health clinics to provide transport for essential workers.

2. Prevent hunger for rural families through a new seed distribution service.

The #1 way you can get INVOLVED:

Donate! Our team launched a fundraising campaign with the goal of raising $50,000 to support 500 rural families through COVID-19.

This funding will enable our team to:
1) Reach 5,000 rural families through our call center
2) Get bicycles into the hands of over 500 healthcare workers
3) Prevent hunger for 400 rural families, maintaining food on the
table for 2,000 Ugandans
